Roaming the Back Roads
In order to not confuse our travel adventures with my posts on Labeling and Good Manufacturing Practices (and in order to give Jere a place to post about our travels), we have started a new blog just covering our travel adventures. Come join us at Roaming the Back Roads (www.roamingthebackroads.com). You can find maps, summaries…

Our Trip So Far (September 2015)
Update April 2016: See our blog, Roaming the Back Roads, for further stories of our travel adventures. From Bend we worked our way (slowly) down to Pahrump, Nevada, where we had reservations in an RV park for 3 weeks. Once we got a ways east, we were in what seemed like endless desert. Flat, hot,…

Bittersweet Weekend Trip
As a sort of pre-Memorial Day Weekend trip, Jere and I, accompanied by dogs Duke and Xena, went on a short jaunt north and then back down the coast. It was a trial run with the dogs in the RV, to see if they (and we) would be able to do it.

The award is one of two civic recognitions they give out annually. From their website: “Private Landowner Stewardship Award “This civic award…

Quest for the Perfect Pickle and GMP
This last week has been shaped by the bounty from our garden. I realized that keeping track of all the canning recipes is just one piece of good manufacturing practices

Getting Back in the Groove
They say that when you fall off a horse, the best thing is to get right back on. The rationale is that the longer you delay, the harder it is to overcome any fear you have from falling off in the first place. In other words, you lose your groove. Well, I can tell you…

Garden Therapy
Life isn’t ALL about regulations and legislation and good manufacturing practices (or preparing for presentations at the HSCG Annual Conference). Sometimes you have to step back and take time to smell the roses—or in my case, plant the garden. We’ve been gradually working on it for years, and this spring (especially in the last few…

Road Trip!
Just got back from a road trip – 2160 miles in 6 days. Believe it or not, it was really fun and we had a relaxing time. Spent a lot of time driving back roads and through State and Federal forests and parks. So beautiful!
